Fatmanur
Zengin

Fatmanur Zengin is a Berlin-based artist working primarily with oil sticks, pastels, and acrylics. Her paintings begin not with a predetermined image, but with an impulse: a colour, a word, a poem, a dream, a mythological image, or an encounter with the natural elements. These impulses become points of entry into a receptive state of mind, where conscious thought loosens and images are allowed to emerge.

Through an intuitive and layered process, Zengin follows the connections that arise between sensation, memory, imagination, and material. Rather than depicting the body directly, she approaches it as a field of sensation, tension, and transformation. Forms appear, dissolve, and overlap, creating images suspended between recognition and uncertainty.
